In a landmark gathering that resonated with faith, purpose, and collective resolve, nearly 100 theologically trained women and ministry leaders from diverse denominations came together at the Cathedral Church of the Resurrection, Lahore — one of Pakistan’s most storied houses of worship — for a Regional Ecumenical Seminar unlike any before it.
The seminar, organized by the Ecumenical Forum for Theologically Trained Women under the auspices of the Christian Study Centre, Rawalpindi, was centered on a bold and timely theme:
“Women of Excellence: Rising to Create, Lead, and Transform Communities through Visionary Leadership.”

The seminar unfolded as a rich tapestry of spiritual and practical engagement. Conversations ranged from personal testimonies of perseverance to strategic discussions on how trained women can expand their influence in both church and community settings.
Participants left not only inspired but equipped — with networks strengthened, friendships forged, and a shared roadmap for advancing women’s leadership across Pakistan’s diverse Christian communities.

The Ecumenical Forum for Theologically Trained Women, operating under the Christian Study Centre in Rawalpindi, has long served as a hub for equipping and elevating women in ministry across Pakistan. The CSC is one of South Asia’s foremost institutions for interfaith dialogue, theological education, and social engagement.
This seminar is part of a growing movement to ensure that women who have invested in formal theological training find pathways to meaningful leadership — in pulpits, parishes, institutions, and communities.
Rev. Dr. Khushnud Azariah
Rev. Dr. Khushnud Azariah is a pioneering figure in Pakistan’s history — the first woman to study theology and be ordained as a Priest in the country.
