The American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC) has extended its congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the people of the Kingdom of Morocco on the occasion of Throne Day, the national holiday marking the King’s accession to the throne. In a statement released this week, AMMWEC praised the longstanding friendship between the United States and Morocco and pointed to a shared commitment to peace, security, and prosperity between the two nations.
Throne Day, or Eid al-Arsh, is observed each year on July 30 and ranks among Morocco’s most significant national holidays. This year’s observance marked the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession in 1999, with official ceremonies held in M’diq and Tetouan, including a royal reception, a military oath-taking ceremony, and the traditional Bay’ah allegiance ceremony in which representatives from across the kingdom renew their oath of loyalty to the Throne.
In its statement, AMMWEC said it looks forward to continued collaboration with Morocco on interfaith understanding and community empowerment, describing the relationship as grounded in respect, dignity, and shared humanity.
In his traditional Throne Day address delivered July 29, King Mohammed VI cited economic growth of roughly 4.9% in 2025, Morocco’s rise as Africa’s leading automotive exporter, progress in renewable energy including the country’s Green Hydrogen initiative, and a record year for tourism with nearly 20 million visitors.
